Roku Launches “Now This Is TV” Ad Campaign
SARATOGA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Roku® Inc. today announced the launch of its new advertising campaign, “Now This Is TV.” The campaign, which launches at the start of the biggest selling season ever for streaming players, highlights Roku’s massive lead in streaming content, including the superiority of its selection of movies compared to other streaming devices. As the first work for Roku from Butler Shine Stern and Partners (BSSP), the creative features a festive and humorous tone and will reach consumers through out-of-home, cinema and digital executions across popular consumer entertainment and streaming websites.
Roku is also tapping into the conversation on the art of “self-gifting,” a trend that has gained popularity over the years. According to the National Retail Federation, more than 50 percent of Holiday shoppers plan to spend an average of nearly $130 on “self-gifts.” These shoppers will be introduced to Moxkat Grvida, a 50-something Ukrainian man who stars in Roku’s first-ever video ad. Moxkat loves Roku and explains why it is the best way to watch TV. He offers a foolproof plan for consumers to self-gift a Roku player and say it’s from him. The Moxkat video ad will play in cinemas across the nation and will be seen online on popular digital destinations and across Roku’s social media channels. Consumers can get to know Moxkat better at: www.youtube.com/roku, www.facebook.com/roku and @Rokuplayer.
“This Holiday season will be the biggest ever for streaming to the TV and Moxkat brings attention to why a Roku player should be on the top of everyone’s gift list. His passion for Roku and clever approach to self-gifting bring a fresh perspective to the often tiring task of Holiday shopping,” said Roku Chief Marketing Officer Matthew Anderson. “The most important question when buying a streaming player is ‘What can I watch?’ and this campaign highlights the superior selection of movies and entertainment available only on Roku.”
