Roku Debuts Two New Streaming Players and Roku Search in Mexico

Launch marks Roku’s return to retail in Mexico celebrated by 
Buen Fin deals starting from 599 Pesos

Roku, Inc. (Nasdaq: ROKU) today announced it is launching new streaming players in Mexico, giving consumers new entertainment options just in time for the Holidays. The Roku® Streaming Stick+ is small, powerful and portable plus, it offers brilliant picture quality, long range wireless and can be tucked behind the TV for a clutter free look. Starting from this week, consumers can also find the new Roku Express+ in stores, which is the easiest way to start streaming in HD and is now 5x faster compared to the original model. Additionally, Roku is launching Roku Search in Mexico to simplify entertainment discovery for consumers.

“Mexico is a fantastic market for streaming and we are excited to bring new players to retail stores this week just in time for the Holidays,” said Alex Dalesio, director of Latin America sales at Roku. “We aim to make streaming easy, fun and affordable, while making streaming para todos in Mexico.”

In Mexico, Roku streaming players and Roku TVs feature access to 5,000+ free and paid streaming channels and 100,000 movies and TV episodes. Consumers use a simple home screen to access streaming channels from the Roku Channel Store. Each model ships with a remote control though the company also offers the Roku mobile app for Android and iOS devices.

Roku Search
To simplify entertainment discovery for consumers the company is launching Roku Search in Mexico enabling consumers to search for actors, directors, TV shows and movie titles across top channels and see search results ranked by price. This feature enables consumers to save money and decide where they want to buy their content. At launch popular channels such as Netflix, Cinepolis KLIC and Blim will be included. Roku aims to add more channels over time. This feature will be available to existing customers through a software update expected to be completed later this week.

Roku TV – a better, smarter TV
Roku TVs from TCL and Sharp are now also available in major retail stores throughout the country. Roku launched the Roku TV licensing program in 2016 in Mexico enabling TV brands to license its operating system to offer easy to use smart TVs that are packed with entertainment.

Roku streaming players and Roku TVs are now available in major retail stores such as Best Buy, Liverpool, Office Depot, Radio Shack, Coppel and Walmart. Buen Fin promotions begin Friday, Nov. 16 and end on Tuesday, Nov. 20, and may vary by retailer.
